Q: How do I open the gallon bucket?
A: We made a video to help. See below.
Q: What surface can I apply Advantage to?
A: Tile, Bermuda, Shingle, Poured Concrete, Sloped Gravel Roofs, or Flat Roofs (with positive drainage)
Q: How many coats do I apply?
A: We recommend 2 coats, either with a roller or spray gun.
Q: Is this coating waterproof?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you need primer?
A: We recommend AquaGuard Primer. Apply Therm-X as a base coat to fill cracks and gaps between tiles & shingles.
Q: Can I use the coating at any temperature?
A: No. The surface temperature should be 55 degrees or greater.
Q: What can I use to apply the product?
A: Apply with an airless sprayer, brush, or roller and apply generously using overlapping strokes. Do not brush or roll excessively, as this can induce foam and compromise coating integrity. Textured and porous surfaces will require more coating.
Q: Do I need to let the coating dry before I apply a second coat?
A: Yes, depending on the temperature and humidity, as Advantage is water-based and can air dry. Generally, you can reapply the second coat within an hour. A complete cure was achieved within 3 days.
Q: Is Advantage UV protective?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I get an Advantage in any colors?
A: No.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Advantage Elastomeric provides flexibility, durability & watertight integrity for years of waterproof protection for Tile, Bermuda, Shingle, Poured Concrete, Sloped Gravel Roofs, or Flat Roofs (with positive drainage). This product stops leaks, thereby eliminating the need for expensive re-roofing. The Acry-Tech Elastomeric System has been proven for over 36 years and successfully stood up to Hurricanes Andrew, Floyd, Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne, Katrina, Rita, Wilma, Irene, Sandy, Matthew, Irma, Dorian and Isaias by giving great wind and water resistance to many types of roofing in South Florida and the Bahamas!
SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces must be free from loose coatings, chalk, biological growth, oil, rust, or other contaminants. New Surfaces: Fill all cracks and holes with Acry-Tech Filler and then prime all porous surfaces with Acry-Tech Primer. Previously Painted Surfaces: Pressure clean as above. Repair all holes and cracks with Acry-Tech Filler. Prime chalking surfaces with Acry-Tech Primer. Apply a cement slurry coat if needed as a base coat to fill cracks and gaps between tiles and shingles, or over gravel. The slurry will consolidate the surface to provide a uniform, monolithic substrate for elastomeric applications. (See instruction packet.) Therm-X Basecoat can also serve as an alternative to the cement slurry mix, offering a more straightforward application.
APPLICATION:
Apply by airless sprayer, brush, or roller and apply generously using overlapping strokes. Do not brush or roll excessively, as this can induce foam and compromise coating integrity. Textured and porous surfaces will require more coating. A two-coat application rate of 100 sf per gallon per coat yields 16 dry mils. A two-coat application of 80 square feet per gallon per coat will yield 20 dry mils of waterproof protection. Do not apply this coating to a wet surface or when rain or evening dew is imminent. Do not apply late in the day or when the surface temperature is or will be below 50°F. Wash spills and tools immediately with soapy water.
