SolarX Enamel

SolarX Enamel helps cut heat buildup on metal roofs, metal buildings in busses, shipping containers, trailers, and campers.

Industrial uses of white, metal roof coatings has increased dramatically in an attempt to reduce heat buildup in metal structures. Many elastomeric coatings have been tried but they can fail to provide the protection needed due to the rapid buildup of industrial and airborne pollutants such as diesel exhaust, sulphur dioxide, dust, grime and other residues from industrial activity or highway use. Softer film elastomerics can become dirty and negate the reflective properties of their white surface.

SolarX is a bright white, highly reflective, glossy coating that stays cleaner than softer elastomerics, is easily maintained while it provides great UV and Infrared heat reduction to the underlying structures. SolarX dramatically lowers surface temperatures and that translates into lower substrate temperatures.

FACT: A dark colored surface can register surface temperatures of up to 150 degrees during the summer months. The amount of heat buildup that results can be stifling, and goods stored within the structure can be damaged by the extreme heat. Also, workers can be compromised by the high heat and productivity will diminish.

BUT...

Apply this coating to metals including primed steel, primed galvanized, bare aluminum, or even to fiberglass for a quick, easy and inexpensive means of reducing surface heat and under-roof temperatures.

SolarX will cost dramatically less than typical white elastomerics that can pick up dirt and road pollution quickly. SolarX costs less than $0.20 per square foot to apply and the glossy finish is easy to keep clean with periodic pressure washing or typical detergents such as Simple Green.

Heat reduction no longer has to be expensive! Don't spend extra money on products with high stretch, or waterproofing ability if what you want is heat reduction. (You can make maintenance repairs with our special Leak Stopping brush grade sealants prior to painting with SolarX. That way, you stop roof leaks and cut roof top temperatures at the same time.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: When heat reduction for an air conditioned structure is required, often it is best to use a low density, heat resistant coating that will help to prevent heat transfer into the substrate and hold the cool temperature in. In that case, our CeramaX Elastomeric may be a better choice.

EXAMPLE: In a sealed shipping container, there is no air conditioning. Any heat that enters the container (such as through the side walls, end walls or top) will add to the interior heat until the outside air temperatures fall and consequently the interior heat bleeds off. If the roof of the container is coated with a low density, elastomeric coating, that heat can become trapped for longer periods of time. SolarX reduces heat through reflectivity and allows any residual heat buildup to escape into the atmosphere as outside temperatures fall. Ideally, SolarX on all surfaces of a shipping container or trailer will give the maximum heat reduction during the heat of the day and allow the interior to cool quickly when ambient temperatures fall. SolarX is the best way to go for shipping containers, trailers, or other non-air conditioned structures.
